Zinedine Yazid Zidane, was born on June 23 1972 in Marseille. His nickname is Zizou. He is of algerian origine, his wife's name is veronique. He's got four sons : Enzo - Luca - Théo and Elyaz. He was a famous French football player.

He made French people dream when he played the world football cup 1998 and 2006, and Euro 2000.

In 2006, he was the French people's favourite sportsman. He was the best player in the world (1998 - 2000 and 2003) and he won the golden ball in 1998.

He was the second best French player twice. He went into-international retirement in 2004. He come back, he definitely retired after the world football cup against Italy July 9th 2006 in Berlin.

Durring the match he was sent off because he banged his head against Marco Materazzi !!

Today he is the ambassador of the United Nations. He fights against poverty.
