Hello !
And welcome for a tour of l'Ile d'Yeu !
L'ile d'Yeu is a small island in the Atlantic Ocean, at about half an hour (by boat) from le Port de Fromentine. It's about 11 km long, on 5km... Yes, it's small ! ;-)
At first, here are some photos of the houses you can find in this island.
As you can notice, these houses are white with dark colored shutters. And it's actually like that for all the residences of the island... So yes, in summer, with a beautiful sunny weather, it's bright and extraordinary !
And here, a little street in the village... Yes, me too, I really think it's amazing ! ;-)
And speaking about houses, here the house of my uncle (because this lucky man lives over there !)
And sometimes, between two houses, this what you can admire. (and this beautiful couple, walking to the ocean, is my brother Patrick and his girlfriend Celia)
Here, they are...
And their beautiful little girl, Gabriella ! (she's so cute when she's sleeping.)
And she's also so cute when she eats... but in a different way ! :'-D
Laure, my big brother's partner, with their son, Titouan, and Emie, their daughter.
Sebastien, my big brother, was not here because of his work. He's musician, so, you must know that, he travels a lot for his job !
But now, let's start a real tour of the island.
1/ We will begin in the main place of l'Ile d'Yeu: the harbour, Port Joinville.
(this is only a part of the harbour, and there is a café just in front of the big chimney... this is from where I called you !)
2/ The entrance of the port.
3/ La plage des Roses, a little bit north of the port
4/ And then, let's take the road to north-west, along the coast.
5/
(from here, there's only a little path)
6/ La Pointe du But, the very west of l'Ile d'Yeu
(I don't know if you can see, but if you look carefully on the horizon towards this direction, you can see... New York ;-) )
7/ So now, we are going to go south, but on the other side of the island. And as you could see, there's just... nothing but the nature.
8/
9/ Sometimes, you can see a cross...
10/
11/ ... or a castel...
12/ ... some sheeps
13/
14/ ... a small chapel...
15/ ... and a beautiful little hidden habour, le Port de la Meule.
(the bicycle you can see in the front was my traveling companion during this trip!)
16/ It was fairly late at this moment, and I had to come back before the end of the tour... because I knew that we'll eat grilled tuna ! So when you see this stone, my brother's house is nearby !
Now I can imagine that eveything is a little bit abstract for you, so I think that this may help you !
